【摘要】:ThisPartofBS5839specifiesconstruction,electricalandperformancerequirementsandmethodsoftestforautomaticreleasemechanismsforcertainfireprotectionequipment.Theautomaticreleasemechanismsareintendedtoholdopen(orclosed)fireprotectionequipmentsuchasfiredoors,fireshutters,firedampers,etc.againsttheforceofadoor-closing(ordoor-opening)mechanism,andtoreleasethefiredoor,fireshutter,firedamper,etc.onmanualoperationoronreceiptofasignalfromafiredetectionsystem,oneormoresmokeorfiredetectorsorfromacentralpointinabuilding.Thisstandarddoesnotcoverthefollowing:(a)devicesforthereleaseofautomaticextinguishingsystemsorfixedfireextinguishers;(b)fusiblelinksandthermaltripsusedforreleasingfiredoors,fireshutters,firedampers,etc.whicharenotpartofafiredetectionandalarmsystemandwhichthereforedonotaffectthedesignandconstructionofanyfiredetectionandalarmsystemthatmaybeinstalled;(c)closing(oropening)mechanisms,e.g.doorclosers;NOTE1.DoorclosersarespecifiedinBS6459.(d)releasemechanismsincorporatedintoclosingoropeningmechanisms;(e)releasemechanismswhichutilizefrictionbetweenthemechanismandafixedsurfacetopreventthedoorclosing,e.g.plungertypedevices;(f)firedetectionandalarmsystemsandsmokeorfiredetectorsnortheirdisposition;(g)precautionsthatmaybenecessaryifthereleaseoffireprotectionequipmentiseitherhazardousor,intheabsenceofanyfire,costlyorinconvenient;(h)apparatusthatmaysendasignaltorelease.NOTE2.Inthisstandard,toavoidrepetition,theterm'open'includestheterm'closed'andconversely,andtheterm'door'includesfiredoors,fireshutters,firedampersandotherfireprotectionequipmentthatarerequiredtobeheldagainsttheforceofadoor-closing(ordoor-opening)deviceandreleasedwhennecessary.NOTE3.ThetitlesofthepublicationsreferredtointhisPartofBS5839arelistedontheinsidebackcover.
