【摘要】:ThisguidetolabelingprovidesauniformsystemoflabelingonUV-protectivetextilesthatinformsconsumersabouttheamountofUV-protectionprovided.UV-protectivetextileslabeledaccordingtothisstandardwillpermitconsumerstocomparetheamountofprotectionprovidedbyvarioustextilesandpurchasetheproductthatbestmeetstheirsunprotectionneeds.UV-labelingisinadditiontootherrequiredlabelingofgarmentsincludingPermanentCareLabelsandfibercontent(composition)labels.ManufacturersareencouragedtoprovideinformationtoconsumersthataidsinselectingproductsthatprovidetheamountofUV-protectiondesired.UV-protectivetextileslabeledaccordingtothisstandardguidewillbelabeledwithaUPFvalue.AATCCTestMethod183mustbeusedtodeterminethemeanUPFvaluesofunpreparedspecimens,ofspecimenspreparedusingPracticeD6544(prepared-for-testingspecimens),andofspecimenstakenfromgarmentslabeled,x201C;Washoncebeforewearing,x201D;thesespecimensbeingtakenafterthegarmentislaunderedonceaccordingtolabeldirections.Thelatterspecimensarereferredtoaslaundered-oncespecimensinthisdocument.AlabelUPFwillbecalculatedforthevarioustypesofspecimensfollowingdirectionsprovidedinthisdocument.Usually,thevaluetobeplacedontheproductlabelwillbethelabelUPFcalculatedfortheprepared-for-testingspecimensorthelabelUPFcalculatedfortheunpreparedspecimens,whicheveristhelowervalue.Inthecaseofproductstobelabeled,x201C;Washoncebeforewearing,x201D;orsimilarwording,theUPFvaluetobeplacedontheproductlabelwillbeeithertheUPFcalculatedfortheprepared-for-testingspecimensorthelaundered-oncespecimens,whichevervalueisthelowerone.4.5.1Discussion151;TheUPFvaluetobeplacedonagarmentlabelneedstobethelowestprotectionvalueexpectedduringconsumeruseoveratwo-yearperiod.Usually,thisUPFvaluewillbethatobtainedfortheprepared-for-testingspecimensbecausetheyhavebeenlaundered40timesandexposedtoUV-radiationtosimulateconditionsexpectedtolowertheUPFduringconsumeruse.However,forcertainfabrics,knitsinparticular,thefabricmanufacturermusttenter(stretch)thefabrictostandardwidthforthegarmentmanufacturer.ThisprocessdecreasestheUPFofthefabricdramaticallybecausetheopticalporosity,whichhasasignificantinfluenceonUPF,isincreasedanddoesnotrepresentthelowestUPFprovidedtotheconsumerbecauseafterthefirstlaunderingshrinkagemayrestorethelostprotectionbyreducingtheopticalporosityofthefabric.Inthesecases,thevaluetocomparetotheprepared-for-testingvalueislogicallythatoflaunderedoncespecimens.UV-protectivelabelingisintendedtobeusedontextileproductswhosedesignorstylingprovidespurposefulprotectiontocoveredskin.UVprotectivelabelingshouldbeusedonany,andall,fabricsorgarments,orboth,ifthoseproductsmakeaUVprotectiveclaimasdeterminedbythisGuide.1.1ThisstandarddescribeslabelingrequirementsfortextileproductsintendedfortheprotectionofhumansfromUVAandUVBradiation.1.2Thisstandardisnotintendedtobeusedforthelabelingofmedical-devicesunprotectivefabricsandclothingwhoselabelingisspecifiedintheU.S.FoodandDrugAdministration''sDraftGuidanceforthePreparationofaPremarketNotificationdocument.1.3ThelabelrequirementsareinadditiontothoserequiredbytheCareLabelingRuleandfibercontent(composition)labelingacts(Wo......
