【摘要】:Fatiguecrackgrowthrateexpressedasafunctionofcrack-tipstress-intensityfactorrange,da/dNversusx0394;K,characterizesamaterial''sresistancetostablecrackextensionundercyclicloading.Backgroundinformationontheration-aleforemployinglinearelasticfracturemechanicstoanalyzefatiguecrackgrowthratedataisgiveninRefs(1)and(2).1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationoffatiguecrackgrowthratesfromnear-thresholdtoKmaxcontrolledinstability.Resultsareexpressedintermsofthecrack-tipstress-intensityfactorrange(x0394;K),definedbythetheoryoflinearelasticity.1.2Severaldifferenttestproceduresareprovided,theoptimumtestprocedurebeingprimarilydependentonthemagnitudeofthefatiguecrackgrowthratetobemeasured.1.3Materialsthatcanbetestedbythistestmethodarenotlimitedbythicknessorbystrengthsolongasspecimensareofsufficientthicknesstoprecludebucklingandofsufficientplanarsizetoremainpredominantlyelasticduringtesting.1.4Arangeofspecimensizeswithproportionalplanardimensionsisprovided,butsizeisvariabletobeadjustedforyieldstrengthandappliedforce.Specimenthicknessmaybevariedindependentofplanarsize.1.5ThedetailsofthevariousspecimensandtestconfigurationsareshowninAnnexA1-AnnexA3.Specimenconfigurationsotherthanthosecontainedinthismethodmaybeusedprovidedthatwell-establishedstress-intensityfactorcalibrationsareavailableandthatspecimensareofsufficientplanarsizetoremainpredominantlyelasticduringtesting.1.6Residualstress/crackclosuremaysignificantlyinfluencethefatiguecrackgrowthratedata,particularlyatlowstress-intensityfactorsandlowstressratios,althoughsuchvariablesarenotincorporatedintothecomputationofx0394;K.1.7ValuesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Valuesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.8Thistestmethodisdividedintotwomainparts.Thefirstpartgivesgeneralinformationconcerningtherecommendationsandrequirementsforfatiguecrackgrowthratetesting.Thesecondpartiscomposedofannexesthatdescribethespecialrequirementsforvariousspecimenconfigurations,specialrequirementsfortestinginaqueousenvironments,andproceduresfornon-visualcracksizedetermination.Inaddition,thereareappendicesthatcovertechniquesforcalculatingda/dN,determiningfatiguecrackopeningforce,andguidelinesformeasuringthegrowthofsmallfatiguecracks.Generalinformationandrequirementscommontoallspecimentypesarelistedasfollows:
